Automotive Grease — AP-3 Multipurpose Lithium

Unisol AP-3 Grease is a multipurpose lithium-based automotive grease manufactured in Rajkot, Gujarat by Satyam Petroleum. It is formulated for chassis points, wheel bearings and general vehicle lubrication, with strong resistance to heat, water wash-out and mechanical wear, giving long service life between re-greasing intervals. AP-3 denotes the consistency grade — a firmer grease suited to wheel bearings and chassis points that carry heat and load, as against a softer AP-2 used where the grease must flow more readily. Unisol supplies AP-3 Grease to more than 100 distributors across India, manufactures it under private label for other brands, and ships it in bulk for export alongside its engine oil range. Export orders start at one 20 ft container, approximately 17 KL, and private label production starts at 10 KL per SKU. Unisol is ISO 9001:2015 certified.

Automotive Grease — FAQ

What is AP-3 grease used for?

AP-3 is a multipurpose automotive grease used on chassis lubrication points, wheel bearings, king pins, spring shackles and general vehicle greasing. Its firmer consistency helps it stay in place in bearings that run hot or carry heavy loads, and its lithium soap base resists water wash-out, which matters on vehicles working in monsoon or wash-down conditions.

What is the difference between AP-2 and AP-3 grease?

The number is the consistency grade — how firm the grease is. AP-2 is softer and pumps more easily through centralised greasing systems and long grease lines. AP-3 is firmer and stays put better in wheel bearings and chassis points that see heat and load. For most Indian commercial vehicle and tractor applications greased by hand, AP-3 is the usual choice. Follow the vehicle manufacturer's specification where one is given.

Can Unisol supply automotive grease in bulk for export?

Yes. Unisol exports automotive grease in bulk from its Rajkot facility alongside its engine oil, gear oil and coolant range. The minimum export order is one 20 ft container, approximately 17 KL, or one 40 ft container at approximately 28 KL. Unisol supplies on FOB and CIF terms and provides full export documentation including MSDS and TDS. Samples are free where the destination is reachable.

Can you manufacture grease under our own brand?

Yes. Unisol manufactures grease under private label and third-party contract arrangements, with a minimum order quantity of 10 KL per SKU and a lead time of approximately 10 days from artwork sign-off. Label and packaging design support is available, and private label grease can be exported.

How often should automotive grease be reapplied?

Chassis points on commercial vehicles are typically re-greased every 5,000 to 10,000 km, and wheel bearings at each major service or bearing inspection. Re-grease sooner where the vehicle works in heavy dust, water crossings or continuous heavy load. Follow the vehicle manufacturer's schedule where one is specified.
